Welcome to Find Your Village (“we”, “us”, or “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website at JoinFindYourVillage.com, any related apps, forms, or services (collectively, the “Service”).

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who We Are and What We Do

Find Your Village provides an informational matching service that helps families connect with other families who may be interested in forming a childcare pod, such as a nanny share or parent-rotation arrangement.

We are not:

  • A childcare provider
  • A nanny or babysitter agency
  • A daycare or school
  • An employer of any caregiver or other user

We do not directly provide childcare, supervise children, or manage any childcare arrangements.

Our role is limited to providing tools and information that help users identify potential matches and communicate with each other.

2. Eligibility

To use the Service, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have the legal authority to enter into these Terms
  • Use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial purposes (unless we agree otherwise in writing)

The Service is intended for use by parents and legal guardians, not by children.

3. User Accounts and Information

You may be required to provide certain information (such as your name, contact information, location, children’s age ranges, and scheduling preferences) to use parts of the Service.

You agree that:

  • All information you provide is accurate, current, and complete
  • You will update your information if it changes
  • You will not impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity, household, or childcare needs

If you create a login or account, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Our Role: No Screening or Endorsement

You understand and agree that:

  • We do not screen, vet, background-check, or verify families, caregivers, or any other users.
  • We do not guarantee that any match is safe, appropriate, or suitable for your family.
  • We do not supervise or monitor communications, meetings, or childcare arrangements.

Any decision to communicate with, meet, or form a childcare arrangement with another user or caregiver is entirely your decision and at your own risk. You are solely responsible for:

  • Conducting any background checks, reference checks, or interviews
  • Ensuring your own compliance with applicable laws (including employment, tax, and childcare regulations)
  • Assessing safety, compatibility, and suitability of other users or caregivers

We do not endorse or make any representations or warranties about any user, caregiver, or childcare arrangement.

5. No Professional Advice

The Service may provide general information about childcare pods, nanny shares, parent-rotation, logistics, or related topics. This information is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute:

  • Legal advice
  • Tax advice
  • Financial advice
  • Medical or safety advice

You should consult qualified professionals (such as attorneys, accountants, or pediatricians) before relying on any information provided via the Service.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Harass, threaten, or harm others
  • Post or transmit any content that is unlawful, abusive, defamatory, obscene, fraudulent, or otherwise objectionable
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Collect or store personal information about other users for unlawful or unauthorized purposes
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service

We reserve the right (but have no obligation) to remove content, restrict access, or terminate your use of the Service if we believe you have violated these Terms or are otherwise acting in a harmful way.

7. Fees and Payments (If Applicable)

If we offer paid features, memberships, or services, additional terms may apply and will be presented to you at the time of purchase.

You agree to:

  • Pay all applicable fees
  • Provide accurate billing information
  • Authorize us or our payment processors to charge your chosen payment method

Unless otherwise stated, fees are non-refundable.

8. Intellectual Property

All content and materials on the Service (including text, logos, graphics, and software) are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.

You may use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use only. You may not:

  • Copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on our content

You retain ownership of any content you submit, but you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use that content for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites, apps, or services. We do not control and are not responsible for the content or practices of these third parties.

Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms and policies.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:

  • Implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
  • Any warranty that the Service will be secure, accurate, reliable, error-free, or available at any particular time
  • Any warranty regarding the safety, suitability, or quality of any users, families, caregivers, or childcare arrangements

Your use of the Service and any interactions with other users or caregivers are at your sole risk.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event shall Find Your Village, its owners, employees, contractors, or affiliates be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Any loss of data, income, profits, or reputation
  • Any personal injury, property damage, or other harm resulting from your use of the Service or your interactions with other users or caregivers

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed:

  • The amount you paid (if any) for use of the Service in the 3 months prior to the claim, or
  • One hundred U.S. dollars ($100), whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Find Your Village and its owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your interactions or arrangements with other users or caregivers
  • Your violation of these Terms or applicable laws
  • Any content you submit or provide

13. Changes to the Service and Terms

We may modify or discontinue the Service (in whole or in part) at any time without notice.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time and for any reason, including if we believe you have violated these Terms.

You may stop using the Service at any time. Certain provisions of these Terms (such as disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification) will survive termination.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland and the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Maryland, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
